What Can I Expect From the AllWhat Can I Expect From the All-on-4® Procedure?-on-4® Procedure?
An initial consultation will be required to determine candidacy and develop a custom treatment plan. During this stage, digital x-rays and imaging scans will be taken so that our team can get a better idea of your existing jawbone density and begin designing your new teeth. From there, your dentist will create a precise plan for the placement of your new dental implants, ensuring optimal stability and durability over the long-term.
In some cases, patients may require preparatory procedures in advance of their dental implant surgery—including tooth extractions, periodontal therapy, and bone grafting, as needed. This helps prepare the mouth and ensure your oral health is sufficient for supporting the new implants.
In most cases, we are able to place All-on-4® dental implants in-office using a local anesthetic. Further sedation dentistry options are available as needed to help with anxiety, but most patients report that the implant procedure is quite tolerable—many are able to return to work within a day or two after their procedure.
After the implants are placed, a temporary overdenture can be affixed so that you continue to have teeth during the healing and osseointegration phases—the period during which the new implants fuse with your jawbone. Once the implants have fully integrated with the jaw, your permanent denture can be placed.
